DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team is set to play a three-game Atlantic 10 series against Fordham at home this weekend, kicking off at 4 p.m. Friday at UD Softball Stadium. The Flyers and Rams have adjusted the game schedule due to impending bad weather (see below). Admission is free.

Friday, April 18
Game 1 - start 4:00 PM
Game 2 - start approximately 30 minutes after game 1 - play until darkness

Saturday, April 19
Game 2 - continue if needed - 11:00 AM
Game 3 -  30 minutes after the conclusion of game 2

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (20-14, 10-4 A-10) enters the weekend holding first place in league standings but the Flyers had their five-game winning streak halted Wednesday with an 11-2 loss to No. 24 Ohio State. UD's offense is led by senior Emma Schutter (.375) with 42 hits, 33 runs, 16 walks and 18 stolen bases while senior Maddie Kapsimalis (.339) has 38 hits, 22 runs and 25 RBI. In the circle, junior Izzy Kemp (9-4) leads the Dayton pitching corps with a team-low 2.60 ERA, 113 strikeouts and nine complete games in 94.1 innings of work.

SCOUTING FORDHAM
Fordham (21-21, 11-6 A-10) is currently suffering through a five-game skid after splitting its DH at Saint Joseph's on April 9, including a 7-2 loss at home to LIU. Neleh Nogay (.382) has tallied a team-high 58 hits, 40 runs and 38 stolen bases while Sydney Wells (.336) has 10 home runs, 33 RBI and 38 walks. Holly Beeman (11-5) holds a 2.28 ERA with 69 Ks and 14 complete games over 107.2 innings pitched.

SERIES STUFF
Fordham leads, 32-30
Last season, Dayton claimed the 2-1 conference series win at Fordham April 13-14 and UD has won five of the last eight meetings in the all-time series. The Flyers and Rams first squared off on April 13, 1996 in Dayton.

LAST TIME OUT
On Wednesday, Dayton welcomed 24th-ranked Ohio State to UD Softball Stadium for a single game. The Buckeyes claimed an 11-2, five-inning win over the Flyers in non-conference action. Three Flyers recorded multi-hit games and senior Chloe Wong tallied two RBI, her team-high-tying multi-RBI game of the season

In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) through games on April 16, Dayton ranked 154th according to NCAA.com. Fordham came in at 144th.

• Cara Clark is in her 18th season as head coach of the Flyers in 2025. Her record at Dayton is 433-439-2 (.497) and Clark's career win-loss mark sits at 564-565-2 (.500) over a total of 24 seasons. In Atlantic 10 Conference play, she has tallied a 204-144 career record. Clark has tallied the program's most wins and holds the all-time best winning percentage at Dayton.
• Dayton has won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title two times (2024, 2015) and the Flyers have captured the A-10 Championship title once (2024).
