DAYTON. — The University of Dayton men's tennis team delivered a commanding performance Friday night, shutting out Saint Louis 6-0 at the South Regency Tennis Center.
The Flyers came out strong in doubles play, with sophomore
Kyle McNally and freshman
Brady Hussey breezing to a 6-0 win. Junior
Sai Dore and freshman
Andreas Nygaard followed suit with a solid 6-3 victory, clinching the doubles point for Dayton.
In singles action, the Flyers continued their momentum. Hussey set the tone at No. 1 singles with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 win. At No. 2, sophomore Mikel Zinder was in complete control, posting a convincing 6-2, 6-0 result. Freshmen
Kaia Mendibe and
Alfons Ridstrom kept the wins coming on courts No. 3 and No. 5, respectively. Rounding out the sweep, McNally won at No. 1 with a 6-4, 6-3 victory and
Davis Phillips secured the sweep at No. 6 6-3, 6-4.
Up Next: The Flyers return to action on Sunday, April 6, when they host Davidson at 11:00 a.m. at the South Regency Tennis Center.
