Bryce Heard Set To Add Firepower To Men’s Basketball Backcourt

Versatile Guard Brings Athleticism, Scoring Ability, And High-Upside Potential To The Flyers

DAYTON – Sophomore guard Bryce Heard is set to join the University of Dayton men's basketball team for the upcoming 2025-26 campaign, the program and head coach Anthony Grant announced this week.

Heard comes to Dayton from N.C. State University, where he played in 24 games as a rookie. The Chicago native will have three seasons to play for the Flyers.

In his time with the Wolfpack Heard scored 28 total points and had 20 rebounds. He had his best scoring output in ACC play against Georgia Tech, dropping seven points on .667 shooting from the floor. He was named a member of the ACC All-Academic team.

The Chicago native was a consensus four-star recruit for the Class of 2025 before reclassifying to the Class of 2024. Heard attended Homewood-Flossmoor as a junior, averaging 16.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game and earning All-State honors. He also played a year each at Kenwood Academy and Montverde Academy as a prep.

Heard joins fellow newcomers De'Shayne Montgomery and Jordan Derkack as part of the 2025-26 recruiting class that the Flyers already have on campus in preparation for the season.
