Football Returns To Action At Robert Morris

The Flyers Are 1-1 This Season

The University of Dayton football team will return to action after the bye week to take on Robert Morris University Saturday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. at Joe Walton Stadium in Moon Township, Pa. 

SERIES HISTORY
Dayton and Robert Morris are facing off for the 24th time this weekend. The Flyers hold a 20-3 series advantage including the last match-up back on Sept. 3, 2022 which ended in a 22-20 road win for UD.

LEADING THE WAY
• The Flyers currently lead the PFL in numerous categories across all three phases of the game including fewest penalties, fumbles recovered, kickoff return defense, passing yards allowed, scoring defense, turnover margin. 
• Dayton also ranks Top 10 nationally in fewest penalties, fewest passes had intercepted, team passing efficiency defense, and turnovers lost. 

MAKING THEIR MARK
• Dayton has multiple student-athletes ranking in the top five individually among PFL players: 
• Gavin Lochow - Ranks second in league in all-purpose yards (10th nationally), second in receiving touchdowns (ninth nationally), first in receiving yards per game (eighth nationally), first receptions per game (seventh nationally).
• Bryce Schondelmyer - Ranks second in PFL in completions per game (37th nationally)
• Luke Hansen - Ranks first in the league in rush yards per carry (seventh nationally)
• Josh Williams - Ranks second in the PFL in forced fumbles (11th nationally)

FIRENZE EARNS PFL HONORS
• Redshirt sophomore Vincent Firenze was named Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 7 after leading the Flyers with six tackles, an interception, and a pass break-up in the win over Thomas More.

GOING FOR A THOUSAND
• Dayton had not one, but two players go over 1,000 yards in their careers in the home victory over Thomas More on Sept. 6. The junior duo of Luke Hansen and Mason Hackett both carried the ball past the 1,000 yard mark in their careers while combining for 187 yards in the effort.

NEXT UP
The Flyers will return home for their second home game of the season at Welcome Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 27. It will be Family Weekend and a White Out as Dayton hosts Stetson at 12 p.m.
