Volleyball’s Kamryn Hunt Named Academic All-American

The Junior Is Second In Program History

AUSTIN, Texas – University of Dayton volleyball player Kamryn Hunt has been placed on College Sports Communicator's Academic All-American First Team, CSC announced Tuesday.

Hunt, a Sports Management major, earns another accolade, adding to an impressive junior season. The outside hitter earned Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, AVCA All-Region selection and AVCA All-American Honorable Mention after leading the Flyers with 429 kills and helping Dayton earn a regular-season title.

The Sylvania, Ohio native is just the second in program history to earn Academic All-American distinction. Carla Muntz was the first to be named an Academic All-American in 2000. Both Flyers earned first-team selection.

Hunt is one of 21 Division I selections and joins 76 other Academic All-Americans. Academic All-American is a title reserved for college student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their chosen sport and in the classroom. Outstanding student-athletes are nominated for Academic All-District® recognition by communications directors and must have a minimum 3.50 GPA and meet high athletic standards.
