Anthony Grant Named Head Coach Of Team USA U18 Team

Grant And Team USA Will Compete At The 2026 FIBA U18 Men’s AmeriCup In June

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Dayton head men's basketball coach Anthony Grant was named the 2026 USA Basketball Men's U18 National Team head coach, USA Basketball announced Monday, Feb. 23.
 
Grant, who will be assisted by Matt Langel (Colgate University) and Nate Oats (University of Alabama), will lead the U.S. this summer at the 2026 FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup from June 1-7 (location to be announced by FIBA at a later date).
 
"It is an honor to serve and compete with USA Basketball alongside a great team of players, coaches and staff," Grant said. "We look forward to uniting this summer toward the goal of the FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup gold medal."
 
The coaching selections for the U18 National Team were made by the USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team Committee. All selections were approved by the USA Basketball Board of Directors.
 
This is Grant's second time serving on the USA National Team's U18 coaching staff while the head coach at UD, serving as an assistant on the 2018 gold-medal-winning U18 National Team. He was also an assistant coach for the silver-medal-earning U18 National Team in 2008.
