DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team has just one match this weekend, traveling to Louisville, Ky. to take on Bellarmine.
The Flyers are coming off a 1-1 weekend, defeating St. Bonaventure at home 4-0 last Saturday before falling to No. 1 Ohio State on Sunday. Mikkel Zinder, Rishi Dore and Eric Suk earned singles wins over the Bonnies.
Bellarmine is 1-7 this season, falling 7-0 to Virginia Tech two weeks ago. The Knights' only win this season was against North Dakota on Jan. 31. Matthew Nice currently leads Bellarmine with eight singles wins on the season. Eli Wood and Ryan Parkins have an impressive 7-2 doubles record, going 4-1 from the No. 1 spot in duals competition.
UD is 2-0 against Bellarmine, winning matches in 2020 and 2021. The Flyers won 2020's contest 5-2 and came out on top 6-1 in 2021.
Dayton will return to action on March 11, facing Penn State.
