DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team is headed to Davidson, N.C. for a pair of matches against Davidson and Saint Louis.
The Flyers will play Davidson on March 20 and Saint Louis on March 21.
UD is 9-6 this season, winning its last two matches against Furman and The Citadel. On Tuesday, the Flyers swept The Citadel 7-0.
Davidson is 4-7 overall and 0-2 in the Atlantic 10. Last weekend, the Wildcats dropped matches against Richmond and Wake Forest. Davidson was selected sixth in the conference's Preseason poll, earning 51 points. Alfred Almasi and Mats Bredschneijder were selected to the Preseason All-Conference Team.
The Flyers are 8-2 against the 'Cats, winning the last four matches. In last season's 4-1 win in the Atlantic 10 Championship, Kyle McNally and Sturle Skigelstrand won their singles matches.
Saint Louis is 4-9 this season and has not played since March 7. Andres Castellanos and Riki Koshimizu lead SLU with 10 singles wins this season. In doubles, Castellanos and teammate Valentin Vasquez lead the Billikens with five wins.
Dayton is 17-3 over Saint Louis and is on a 12-match win streak against the Billikens. UD defeated Saint Louis 4-0 in an A-10 Tournament match last season. McNally and Mikkel Zinder won their singles matches in the win.
The Flyers will head to Pittsburgh, Pa. on March 28-29 for matches against Fordham and Duquesne.
