DAYTON - The University of Dayton men's soccer team continues its seven-match homestand Monday night as it welcomes Purdue Fort Wayne to town. The Flyers and Mastodons are set to kickoff at 7:05 p.m. Aug. 31 at Baujan Field and admission is free.

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (2-1-0) enters Monday's match enjoying a two-game win streak. The Flyers dropped their opening match against then No. 12-ranked Akron, 3-0, but bounced back with wins against Western Michigan (2-1) and Detroit Mercy (5-1). Senior Cooper Lijewski leads the Flyer attack with two goals and a total of six shots, with five coming on goal. A total of six Flyers have scored a goal this season while four have dished out assists led by sophomore Pablo Martinez with two helpers on the season. Sophomore Antonio Inkpen has worked the last 180 minutes between the posts for the Flyers, recording a 2-0 record with 10 saves and a 1.67 GAA.

SCOUTING PURDUE FORT WAYNE
Purdue Fort Wayne (0-1-0) opened its 2026 season at Xavier, 2-1, on Aug, 20.  The Mastodons held a 7-4 edge in corner kicks, with six in the second half. Purdue Fort Wanye out-shot Xavier in the second half 5-4.  Purdue Fort Wayne was picked to finish fourth in the 2026 Horizon League Preseason Poll. The 'Dons were edged by Cleveland State (111), Green Bay (95) and league-newcomer Northern Illinois (92).

Dayton Leads, 4-0-0
It has been almost a decade since the last meeting between the Mastodons and the Flyers, with the last contest going to Purdue Fort Wayne 2-1 in 2017. 

UP NEXT
On Saturday, Sept. 5, Dayton will play host to No. 21 UNCG. The Flyers and Spartans will get underway at 7 p.m. at Baujan Field and admission is free.
