KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The University of Dayton men's and women's cross country teams will head to Kalamazoo, Mich., on Friday to compete in the George Dales Invitational, hosted by Western Michigan University at the Prairies Golf Club.
The men have 10 runners expected to compete on Friday and the women send 13 to the start line. The Flyers will be among nine teams in the men's 8K race as the women will face five in the 6K.

Men's 8K: 10:40 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT
At the season opener hosted by Miami (Ohio), the Flyers had numerous Top 20 finishes from both the men and the women.
Senior Anna Newkirk crossed the finish line first for the women with a personal best of 18:35:24, which placed her sixth overall. Eight racers had Top 20 finishes on the women's side, with sophomores Reese Kohnle, Mia Gill, and Grace Heitkamp also earning personal records.
Sophomore Kamden Kramer finished seventh (18:40.80) in Oxford, Ohio, followed by junior Logan Arnold, who placed eighth (18:41.30) in the men's 6K race. The Flyers had Luke Berkebile, Dawit Hailu, Kyle Brown, and Junior Lopez make their collegiate debuts.
