DAYTON - University of Dayton tennis senior
Kyle McNally and soccer sophomore
Caroline Schork have been named the
Ohio's 529 Plan CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held Sept. 14-20.
McNally advanced to the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships in both singles and doubles. He took down players from Miami, UNC Chapel Hill and Mississippi to make it to the qualifying round of singles. He made the main draw by defeating players from Duke and Arizona. McNally and Sturle Skigelstrand won against teams from Arizona and Texas Tech to reach the qualifying stage. To make it to main draw, they defeated teams from Cal Berkeley and Tulsa. This is the furthest the Flyers have gotten in the tournament in singles or doubles.
Sophomore defender Caroline Schork made an impact on both sides of the field in Dayton's 5-0 win over St. Bonaventure in the Atlantic 10 opener, connecting on three assists for UD's first three-assist performance since 2024. Schork was also instrumental in the Flyers' shutout of the Bonnies, helping the defensive unit that allowed just two shots in the match.
