Dayton has broadcast in Mandarin during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 basketball seasons. Mandarin is the most widely spoken dialect in China.

The announcers are all full-time University of Dayton students, whose majors range from electro-optics engineering to financial mathematics.

Enrollment of Chinese students has increased dramatically from a handful to an estimated 450 in the last decade. Chinese students make up the most of any international student population at UD.

In addition to partnerships with 10 Chinese universities, the University of Dayton China Institute in the Suzhou Industrial Park is a permanent Flyer presence in China, one of the world's fastest growing economic regions and home to a third of the world's Fortune 500 companies.
