Dave Mendez is entering his first year coaching for the Flyers. He is working with the UD defensive backs.

Prior to coming to Dayton, he was an assistant coach at Seton Hill University, Widener University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Mendez played linebacker for four seasons at Fordham where he was a member of the Rams’ Patriot League Championship in 2007. He was also a member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Mendez graduated from Fordham in 2010 with a degree in Business Administration with a minor in accounting.

A native of Haverford, PA, Mendez played football, basketball and lacrosse at St. Joseph’s Prep High School in Philadelphia.
