MEN'S TENNIS TRAVELS TO LOUISVILLE FOR WEEKEND

Oct. 6, 2006

After faring well at the Wright State Invitational last weekend, men's tennis will conclude their fall invitational schedule this weekend with the eighth annual Louisville Invitational.

Dayton heads to Louisville with 14 other schools, including the host Cardinals. Participating teams include: Ball State, Bradley, Butler, Cleveland State, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisville, Marquette, Morehead State, Tennessee-Martin and Western Kentucky.

Dayton is fresh off a weekend at Wright State University that saw senior Tom Murphy win the Flight A Singles draw. Murphy, who has yet to lose this season, won a hard-fought match against Wright State's Tony Teufel (6-2, 6-7(4), 11-9) in the championship match. Teufel, who is nationally ranked, played tennis at Louisville before transferring to Wright State this season.

The rest of Flyers went a combined 14-10 in singles action last weekend. Freshman Michael Rohana advanced to the semi-finals of Flight A before losing to runner-up Teufel.

Dayton also went 6-6 as a team in doubles play with sophomore Philippe Giscard d'Estaing and junior Joshua Vance advancing to the finals of the Flight C draw.

The team's annual alumni match remains scheduled for Saturday, October 14 at Dayton Center Courts. Match time is to be announced.
