BRANDON CRAMER NAMED NATIONAL I-AA WEEKLY ALL-STAR BY I-AA.ORG

Sept. 26, 2006

University of Dayton junior safety Brandon Cramer has been named one of I-AA.org's Weekly All-Stars after his performance in UD's 28-23 win over Austin Peay Saturday. Also named were Furman fullback Jerome Felton, Appalachian State defensive back Dexter Jackson and North Dakota State quarterback Steve Walker.

Cramer came up with three of APSU's four turnovers, intercepting two passes and recovering a fumble. His 84-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter proved to be the game-winning points. He also was UD's second-leading tackler (nine hits, four solo).

Cramer had already been named this week's Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Week.

The junior from Anthony Wayne High School in Toledo now has three career touchdowns - a 67-yard fumble return in his first college game against Tiffin, a 98-yard fumble recovery return last year against Valparaiso and Saturday's 84-yard interception return.

After missing the season opener with knee injury, Cramer has three interceptions and 15 tackles.

Dayton has opened the season 3-0, and has won its last six games. The Flyers open Pioneer Football League play Saturday when they travel to Indianapolis to face the Butler Bulldogs.

Felton scored six touchdowns in Furman's win over Western Carolina, Jackson returned back-to-back punts for touchdowns in App State's win over Gardner-Webb and Walker led NDSU to a 29-24 win over Ball State.
