ROLFE TO PLAY FOR US NATIONAL TEAM TONIGHT AT 9 P.M. EST

Feb. 7, 2007

Former University of Dayton men's soccer forward Chris Rolfe will play for the US National team against Mexico Wednesday (Feb. 7) at 9 p.m. EST on ESPN 2 at the sold-out University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.

Rolfe, who started at forward in USA's 3-1 victory over Denmark on Jan. 20, will be looking for his sixth international cap this evening.

Ticket sales for the game surpassed 60,000 late on Tuesday evening, guaranteeing a sell out in the 52nd all-time meeting between the USA and Mexico in international soccer.

New USA head coach Bob Bradley named his 26-man roster on Jan. 24, and has since narrowed the squad down to 16 for the match against Mexico. Former Flyer defender Dasan Robinson was also apart of the 26 named to the camp, but did not make the final cut.

UD's all-time assist leader with 25, Rolfe was selected to the 2004 NSCAA/Adidas Men's NCAA Division I All-America Second Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, and was a First Team All-Atlantic 10 pick. Rolfe ranks sixth in career goals (31) and third in points (87).
