Oct. 24, 2008

Final Stats

ST. LOUIS - The University of Dayton women's volleyball team fell to the No. 25 Saint Louis Billikens on Friday 3-0 (25-17,25-18,25-17) at Chaifetz Pavilion, snapping their four game winning streak and ending their undefeated Atlantic 10 Conference record. Errors proved to be costly in the match with SLU forcing Dayton to 26 errors in the match compared to just six Billiken errors.

"Saint Louis played at a very high level as evidenced by their execution. We did not match that execution or their intensity," head coach Kelly Sheffield said. "When you aren't executing and other teams out-compete you then that is going to happen."

Senior Nicole Bateman had a team-high 10 kills and 10 digs for UD. Redshirt sophomore Lindsay Fletemier was 6-of-14 from the floor with a team-high .429 hitting percentage.

Setter Kacie Hausfeld had 32 assists in the loss and added eight digs and one service ace for the Flyers.

Dayton will travel to Pittsburgh to face Duquesne on Sunday at 1:00 PM ET. For more on the Flyers visit www.DaytonFlyers.com.
