University of Dayton Flyers Head Coach Brian Gregory
"We talked about all year long how our defensive rebounding would be key. Our defense in the second half was really good. I didn't like it as much in the first half. Our half court defense was good all game and it gave us some transition baskets."
"They ran a lot of different defenses. One of the things that happens when you face a changing defense, is that players tend to rush. It leads to more offensive rebounds when you rush shots."
"I was pleased with that victory. In our half court sets were we strong but in our transition we gave up some easy baskets. We needed every stop, every rebound and every effort to win tonight."
"When you have 15 offensive rebounds you have to have more than 14 second chance points. It is something we have to work on."
"I thought that Marcus Johnson's play to tip the pass and get the steal was probably bigger than his dunk before that."
"Our guys play extremely hard and with a lot of heart. We have been able to pull off some close games. We shot well from the free-throw line. We would not be 19-2 without every single player this season."
Chris Wright
"The most important thing is finding a way to win, especially in a game like that. Every possession is important. We just want to grind it out. We knew going into the game that it would be a game of possessions and we just found a way to win."
"He kind of looked like Carmelo (Anthony) mixed with Lebron (James). He went up like Lebron, but put it in like Carmelo. I had a nice view from the side. We do that stuff all of the time in practice, so I knew what is was when I saw him back cut. It was over."
Charles Little
"Any time you can be 19-2, it's really amazing. Any time we can get a win, no matter how we get it, as long as we get it. As long as we get the `W', we don't care."
"I'm just trying to be aggressive as I have been all year. Last game the shots didn't fall, but I'm still trying to be aggressive. Coach has been telling me to keep shooting the shots."
"We knew our offense is predicated on stops. If we keep playing defense we know we will hit a bucket here or Marcus (Johnson) will catch a lob. Something good happens on offense when we keep playing defense and keep getting stops."
Marcus Johnson
"It was a good win for us. We came into the game knowing it was going to be tough. We made some plays at the end to scrap for the `W'."
"Those were two huge plays. Rob (Lowery) threw a great pass and I finished it. They were careless with the ball on the inbound and I came up with the steal."
"I just wanted to get back and defend. There was 18 seconds left and everybody else got back. We just had to settle down. We just had to stay together and fight."
