LEMON BROTHERS NAMED TO USTFCCCA MEN'S ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

March 2, 2009

University of Dayton sophomores Chris Lemon and Matt Lemon have been named to the 2008 NCAA Division I U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Men's All-Academic Team, the Association announced Monday.

The Lemon brothers were among 40 men's student-athletes representing 34 schools across the country that received All-Academic honors for the 2008 cross country season.

In November, Chris and Matt became the first runners in program history to earn a berth into the NCAA National Championship race. They ran the two fastest 10K times in UD history as Chris finished in 102nd place in 30:55, while Matt ran 31:02 to finish 116th.

Academically, the Bowling Green, Ohio natives excel in the classroom. Both were named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll last month for maintaining a grade point average above 3.5 during the Fall 2008 semester.

Chris is majoring in Education & Spanish and holds a cumulative GPA of 3.96 while Matt is focusing in Engineering with a 3.88 GPA overall.
