DAYTON - University of Dayton men's cross country will continue their outdoor track schedule Thursday at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State University.
Three athletes,
Owen Pukys,
Kamden Kramer, and
Logan Arnold, will compete for the Flyers in one of the most competitive collegiate 5k races of the outdoor calendar.
Kramer and Arnold will compete in the first section of the 5k at 6:33 p.m. wile Pukys is slated to run in the third section at 7:05 p.m.
Pukys enters the race coming off a strong first meet of the outdoor season at Miami, in which he claimed a second-place finish in the 1500m and a third-place finish in the 3000m with a personal best time of 8:29.87, which ranks him second in school history.
Kramer will make his collegiate outdoor track debut. In his lone indoor race at the GVSU Big Meet, he won his section of the 5k in a time of 14:42.75. Kramer was named the A-10's Most Outstanding Rookie in the cross country season after being the first freshman and 23rd overall runner across the line at the A-10 Championships.
Arnold is coming off of an indoor performance at the GVSU Big Meet in which he set a PR of 14:53.70 to win his section of the 5k. This past cross country season, Arnold showed notable improvement as he set a PR in four of his six races on the grass. This will be his collegiate debut in outdoor track after not competing last year.
