PHILADELPHIA - Coming off a dual meet victory in its last meet, the Dayton women's rowers will have two events this weekend in Philadelphia.

On Saturday, March 28, the Flyers will participate in the Murphy Cup. Hosted by Temple, the event will take place on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia.

UD will compete against 24 teams in the Varsity 8 including Atlantic 10 schools such as Duquesne, Fordham, La Salle, Temple and Saint Joseph's. However, the biggest race at the Murphy Cup will be the Novice 8 with 27 entrants.

Other programs competing at the Murphy Cup include George Mason, Bucknell and West Virginia, who the Flyers will race next weekend on April 4.

The following day UD is involved in a three-team race against Saint Joseph's and Connecticut. Last year UConn narrowly edged out Dayton of the petite finals at the Dad Vail Regatta. The three-team race will also take place at the Schuylkill River.
