NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - For the second consecutive year, University of Dayton's Chris Lemon has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Student-Athlete of the Year in men’s cross country, in voting conducted among the conference's sports information directors.
Lemon finished second at the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championships in a time of 24:17, leading Dayton to a fourth-place finish. The four-time A-10 Performer of the Week maintains a 3.93 grade point average while double-majoring in education and Spanish. The Bowling Green, Ohio, native has been named to the Academic All-Conference team three years in a row and was Dayton’s 2009 Presidential Scholar Athlete.
Lemon is joined on the men's cross country Academic All-Conference by Dayton teammate and twin brother Matt Lemon, Duquesne’s Jim Spisak and Richmond’s Andrew Benford, Matt Llano and Tim Quinn.
Matt Lemon placed fourth at the Atlantic 10 Championship and earned All-Academic Team honors for the second consecutive season. He carries a 3.92 GPA in engineering.
