Izzy Kemp have been named the
Ohio's 529 Plan CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held March 9-15.
Bennett has saved his best play of the season for the home stretch, putting together another double-digit performance for the Flyers in the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals on Saturday. The senior scored 17 points against No. 1 seed Saint Louis, including 14 of those coming in the second half. During the Atlantic 10 Championship, the All-Conference first team member has averaged 22.0 points, 2.5 assists, 2.5 steals and two rebounds. Bennett has shot an impressive 52.2% (12-of-23) from the floor and 50% (8-of-16) from behind the three-point line in Dayton's wins in Pittsburgh.
Kemp saw action in all three games at Fordham over the weekend, recording a total of 27 strikeouts, posting a 1.02 ERA with two earned runs on eight hits, over 13.2 innings of work. To open the series, she fanned a career-high 18 batters over 8.0 innings for her third complete game of the season in UD's 2-1 win. In Sunday's finale, Kemp tallied nine Ks over five innings. She was also named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday, her third weekly conference honor of the season.
