WASHINGTON D.C. – The Varsity 8 lost a close heat against Georgetown highlighting UD’s effort at the 2010 George Washington Regatta.
UD’s Varsity Eight lost a hard-fought race against Georgetown by 1.3 seconds. Dayton’s squad came in with a time of 6:24.8.
Then against MIT, the Varsity 8 fell in another close race losing despite a time of 6:37.9.
The two Flyer Varsity Four boats came up just short in their head-to-head races against Georgetown. UD’s Varsity Four finished with a time of 7:43.3, just off of the Hoyas’ boat at 7:32.4. In the Varsity Four B race, Dayton clocked in at 7:56.1, behind Georgetown’s time of 7:31.5.
With a time of 6:44.6, UD’s Second Varsity Eight had a strong showing, but placed behind Georgetown by 15 seconds.
In the afternoon session, UD’s Varsity Four came in third with a time of 7:46.2, while the Varsity Four B boat completed their heat with a time of 8:03.7.
Dayton heads to the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday, April 17 in Camden N.J.
