YORKTOWN, Ind. - Flyer Women’s Golf Head Coach Sally Kosters believes this year’s squad is further along in terms of skill and talent than any other team she has coached.
After seeing how her team responded in the final round of their first tournament, Kosters believes that any one of her golfers can shoot low on a consistent basis.
UD will be put to the test once again at the Ball State Cardinal Classic. The tournament will take place on Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18 at The Players Club Golf Course in Yorktown, Ind.
The tournament will begin with a shotgun start both days at 9 a.m. ET.
The Flyers will compete against a talented field of teams which include host school Ball State, Cleveland State, Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois, Indiana State, IUPUI, Ohio, St. John’s University, Western Illinois and Youngstown State.
Dayton will send a lineup of Clara Ang, Heather Jorgensen, Erin Peavy, Kelly Coakley, Maggie Prokop and Lucy Frey. Frey will compete as an individual, while the other five will count toward Dayton’s team score.
In the season opener, Dayton finished in 10th at the Redbird Invitational. The Flyers' third round score improved by nine strokes from what they posted in the first two rounds of that tournament.
Last year the Flyers finished in 13th. This will be the third straight season and fourth time in the last seven years UD will have competed at the Cardinal Classic.
