DAYTON ROWING TAKES FIRST AT HEAD OF THE HIDDEN DRAGON

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The University of Dayton rowing team competed in its second event of the fall season and had its best showing yet.

Dayton took first place in three seperate races, second place in two races, and third place in two races.

In race 23, the Flyers finished first and second respectively, beating Denison for the top two spots.  Team "A" put in a time of 14:05.84 while Team "B" posted a time of 14:19.23.

In race 15, Dayton came in third and fifth.  Team "B" finished in 20:08.95 and Team "C" finished in 20:50.98.  The Flyers were close behind Case Crew and Denison, who took first and second.

The third race of the day was Event 34, in which Dayton finished first overall again.  In the novice 8+ race, Dayton finished with a time of 15:34.0, a full 26 seconds ahead of second place, Case Crew.

The last event of the day was Race 42, the women's open 4+ final.  Dayton had three crews finish first, second, and third overall, defeating a pair of Wittenberg teams.  Team "B", led by Molly Chipman, finished with a time of 14:23.43.  Team "A" led by Sadie Wonders were close behind in second with a time of 14:50.93.  Team "C" led by Allison Martie rounded out the race in third place with a time of 16:08.26.

Dayton's next race will take place on Nov. 10 in a duel with Ohio State in Dayton.
