BOONEVILLE, Ind. – Behind a second round 79, senior Kelly Coakley tied for 10th at the 2012 Charles J. Braun Jr. Intercollegiate.
Coakley earned her third career Top 10 finish as she completed the two-day event with a 157 total.
Dayton as a team also finished in 10th after the Flyers recorded a 332 team score in round two.
“Playing conditions were even harder today with the wind picking up and it being colder out,” head coach Sally Kosters said. “The Quail Crossing golf course was one of the more interesting and challenging course we’ve played on this year and we would like to play it again when the wind is not much of a factor.”
Junior Maggie Prokop was UD’s next best finisher tying for 30th after she had an 86 in round two.
Also shooting an 86 in round two were junior Erin Peavy and freshman Jacki Berardi. Freshman Mika Suntay made a nine-stroke improvement firing an 81 in round two.
“Overall, I thought they all played with a lot of heart,” Kosters said. “No complaints or excuses, we struck the ball well, but had a few loose shots.”
This concludes the 2012 fall campaign for Dayton.
