DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's rowing team had a strong performance in a dual race with Ohio State Saturday in the Head of the Great Miami.
The Flyers finished first in three of the four races on Saturday morning in Dayton. The varsity squad competed in two events with the novice team competing in two as well.
In race two, the UD "A" team finished first with a time of 14:18 while the UD "B" squad came in second with a time of 14:34. Both four-person novice teams finished ahead of third place Ohio State.
In race four, UD's varsity eight-person teams came in first and second once again. The "A" squad posted a time of 11:15 with the "B" team finishing in 11:58.
In race six, the women's eight-person novice team came in second overall with a time of 13:34.
In the final race of the day, the varsity eight-person teams finished first, second, and third, all ahead of the Ohio State squads. Team "A" came in first with a time of 12:40.1, team "B" came in second with a time of 12:47.1 and team "C" finished third with a time of 13:13.
The rowing team wrapped up its fall season as they head into the season break. The spring campaign starts up on March 16 at the Cardinal Oak Ridge Invite in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
