NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dayton volleyball senior Samantha Selsky was named the Co-Offensive Player of the Week in the Atlantic 10, her second award in as many weeks.
Selsky led the Flyers to their 10th Atlantic 10 regular season championship with an 11.67 assist per set average and a .545 hitting percentage in Dayton’s three victories last week. The senior setter totaled 36 assists and a .444 mark against non-conference foe Cincinnati on Wednesday, then followed that up with a 28-assist performance against Charlotte and a 41-assist performance against VCU over the weekend. Selsky also hit a season-high .857 percentage against the 49ers as well. Her seven block assists were also second on the team over the three-game stretch as well, while chipping in 11 digs.
This marks the second time the Manhattan Beach, California native has received the award, and shares it this week with Arielle Love of Duquesne. Selsky has played a crucial role in Dayton's 22-4 record and undefeated mark in the conference this season (13-0).
Candace Silva-Martin of George Washington was named Defensive Player of the Week while Mary Henry of Duquesne was named Rookie of the Week.
Selsky joins Rachel Krabacher and Isolde Hannan as multiple winners of A-10 awards for the Dayton volleyball team. Janna Krafka and Megan Campbell have each received awards as well.
