RALPH HILL TO TRANSFER FROM UD

University of Dayton sophomore forward Ralph Hill has requested and received his release from UD, and will transfer to another school to continue his college basketball career.

“I really love UD, but I’ve played basketball all my life and finding the best role and fit for my future is what has brought me to this decision,” Hill said.  “This is one of the toughest choices I’ve ever had to make.  I know I will always follow the guys (I’ve been teammates with).  They are my brothers.  But sometimes you have to do what you think is best for you.”

"Ralph is a terrific person, and over the course of our first season improved as much as any player in the program,” Dayton head coach Archie Miller said.  “As all young people do, Ralph has goals that are very important to him, both in the game of basketball and in earning his degree.  We support Ralph in wanting to explore options to find a new school where his role in basketball can expand.  We really wish Ralph well in the future, and he will always be Flyer."

Hill played in 25 games in 2011-12, averaging 1.4 points and 1.9 rebounds with career highs of seven points and seven rebounds at Saint Joseph’s.  He averaged 22.6 points a game and was All-Ohio as a senior at Westerville North High School.
