LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Dayton volleyball team stayed in the AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll for theĀ fourth straight week, coming in at No. 22 overall.
This is the 51st consecutive week the Flyers have either been ranked or receiving votes in the AVCA poll. UDās streak of receiving votes dates back to Nov. 23, 2009.
The Flyers faced tough competition in recent matches, but the strength of schedule kept them in the rankings. With an 8-4 record, the Flyers dropped just two spots from No. 20.Ā Two of Dayton's recent losses came against No. 11 Kansas State and No. 12 Minnesota in the Flyers' trip to Oklahoma this past weekend.
Dayton hasĀ reached as high as No. 10 in the rankings, whichĀ happenedĀ on Sept. 3 earlier this year.
Next, the Flyers will return home for a pair of huge contests as they open conference play in the Atlantic 10.Ā Dayton will host A-10 newcomer Butler at 7 p.m.Ā ETĀ on Friday, Sept. 21, before welcoming Saint Louis at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 22.
