Prokop Leads Field with Career-Low Round of 73

KETTERING, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's golf team is second place after the first 18 holes of the 2013 Dayton Fall Invitational with a team score of 310 (+30). Senior Maggie Prokop leads the field with a career-low round of three-over-par 73. The two-day, 36-hole event is being held at NCR Country Club on its par-70 North Course. Play will resume tomorrow morning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

The Flyers are fielding two teams for their only home event of the season and freshman Jenna DiPaolo leads the UD "B" team with a career-low round of 74 which puts her in a tie for second place. B's team score of 317 is good for a tie for fifth place.

Included in Dayton "A" scoring are senior Grace Nikolai with a 77 (+7, t-13) and sophomore Mika Suntay's eight-over-par 78 (t-17). Junior Lucy Frey's first-round score of 82 puts her in a tie for 46th place while junior Kelly Muskat is in a tie for 85th place after carded an 89 on the first 18 of the tournament.

Dayton's "B" squad includes junior Mary-Katherine Slattery's first-round total of 76 (t-11) and senior Erin Peavy's 11-over-par 81 (t-39). Sophomore Amalia Emma fired an 86 for the first 18 holes, putting her in a tie for 68th and sophomore Jacki Berardi rounds out the Flyers' scoring with a 95 (95th).
