VOLLEYBALL AT DUQUESNE FOR LONE MATCH OF THE WEEK

Flyers Currently Lead the Nation in Blocks/Set

DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton volleyball team will head to Pittsburgh this weekend for its lone match of the week, a 7 p.m. contest on Saturday at Atlantic 10 foe Duquesne. This is the only regular-season meeting between the Dukes and the Flyers.

ABOUT THE FLYERS
Dayton (10-10, 4-4 A-10) picked up back-to-back Atlantic 10 wins last weekend with a 3-1 victory over Fordham on Friday and a 3-0 sweep of Rhode Island Sunday at home in Frericks Center. The Flyers have now won three of their last four and four of their last six matches heading into this weekend's lone contest at Duquesne. As a team, Dayton leads the league and the nation with 3.07 blocks per set.

Senior Megan Campbell is the team's offensive leader, averaging 2.74 kills/set while hitting at a .332 clip (5th A-10). Sophomore Jenna Jendryk is the squad's floor general, setting 9.13 assists per set (6th A-10), and sophomore Janna Krafka is averaging 4.40 digs/set (2nd A-10) as the team's leading passer. At the net, four Flyers are averaging more than one block per set, including Campbell with 1.35 (2nd A-10).

SCOUTING DUQUESNE
Duquesne (12-8, 6-1 A-10) is currently riding a five-match winning streak after dropping its lone Atlantic 10 loss to VCU on Sept. 29. Last weekend, the Dukes also picked up wins over Rhode Island (3-1) and Fordham (3-0). Duquesne leads the conference with a team hitting percentage of .223 and ranks second in the A-10 with 14.45 digs/set.

Arielle Love leads the Dukes with a .351 hitting percentage (2nd A-10) while recording 3.36 kills/set (6th A-10). Mary Henry is the team's primary setter, averaging 10.29 assists per set (2nd A-10) while Patty Abshire serves up 0.34 aces per/set (3rd A-10). Abshire is also the team's leading passer with 3.87 digs per frame (5th A-10).

SERIES STUFF
Dayton and Duquesne have previously met 36 times with the Flyers holding the 34-2 all-time advantage in the series. Last season, the two squads squared off on Oct. 27 in Dayton with the Flyers claiming the three-set sweep over the Dukes. UD hasn't dropped a set to DUQ since their meeting in the 2010 A-10 Championship (UD 3, DUQ 1) and the last time Duquesne defeated Dayton was in the last regular-season match of 2004 (11/13) in Pittsburgh, 3-1.

RPI RANKINGS
Dayton heads into this weekend's match holding a RPI (Rating Percentage Index) ranking of 112 according to ncaa.com. Duquesne comes in just behind UD at 131 out of 332 Division I programs ranked in the RPI.

HANNAN RECOGNIZED FOR STRONG PLAY AT THE NET
Junior Isolde Hannan earned her first Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week nod on Oct. 21 after helping her team to two A-10 wins over the previous week's play. Hannan was the Flyers' leading blocker with 2.14 per set and she recorded seven blocks to go with six kills on Friday against Fordham. Hannan followed that performance with eight blocks, five kills against Rhode Island. She also posted a .500 hitting percentage after swinging error-free in 10 attempts versus Rhody.

YOUR ASSISTANCE, PLEASE
Senior Megan Campbell and junior Isolde Hannan are moving up the Dayton career assisted blocks list as the top two blockers for the Flyers this season. Campbell currently ranks fifth all-time with 373 assisted blocks while Hannan comes in at number seven with 305 block assists. So far this season, Campbell has recorded a team-best 93 BAs while Hannan has 74.

CAMPBELL NEARING 1,000 KILLS
Senior middle blocker Megan Campbell is not only the team's leading blocker but also leads the team with 185 kills this season. For her career, Campbell has tallied 849 kills and is just 151 kills shy of becoming the 21st Flyer to reach the 1,000-kill mark.

WE WILL PROTECT THIS NET
As a team, the Flyers lead the Atlantic 10 Conference and rank first nationally averaging 3.07 blocks/set. Senior Megan Campbell leads four Flyers that average more than one block per set this season with 1.35 (2nd A-10, 25th NCAA). Junior Isolde Hannan tallies 1.32 blocks/set (4th A-10, 32nd NCAA) while sophomore Angel Agu records 1.24 stuffs per set (5th A-10). Sophomore Jenna Jendryk rounds out the group of four with 1.01 blocks per frame for UD.

BATTLING THE BEST
Five of Dayton's 10 losses this season were against teams that were ranked or receiving votes in the AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Flyers defeated Saint Mary's (Calif.), 3-2, when the Gaels were receiving votes in the national poll earlier this season.

DON'T HIT ON US
In the Flyers' five-set thriller over Saint Mary's (Calif.) on Sept. 14, the team set a new program record for blocks in a match with 22.5 total team blocks. Also a new school record was the 41 assisted blocks the Flyers' tallied in the 3-2 win over the Gaels. Sophomore Angel Agu recorded a career-high 10 blocks in the contest while senior Megan Campbell added nine. Sophomore Jenna Jendryk narrowly missed the elusive triple-double with her career-high 48 assists, 12 digs and nine blocks as well.

FAMILIAR FACE LEADS NEW COACHING STAFF
First-year head coach Matt Affolder is no stranger to the program after spending the last five seasons at the top assistant coach for the Flyer program. Affolder's staff includes assistant coach Stephanie Ross, assistant coach Ryan Freeburg, volunteer assistant coach Matt Girouard, director of operations Samantha Selsky and technical director Karl Grosselin.

CAMPBELL FINALIST FOR SENIOR CLASS AWARD
Two-time All-American senior Megan Campbell has been named to the list of 30 finalists for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

UD PICKED TO WIN A-10 CROWN
The defending Atlantic 10 conference volleyball champion Flyers have been unanimously selected as the 2013 Atlantic 10 preseason favorite in a vote conducted among the league's nine head coaches. The Flyers (27-5, 14-0 Atlantic 10) won both the 2012 regular season and the A-10 Championship, their fourth-straight title and fifth in the last six years. The Flyers garnered all nine first-place votes for a point total of 81 in the poll. This was the fourth consecutive year Dayton was picked to finish first in the conference's preseason poll.
