Q. What do you think the impact of Jordan Sibert will be?
A. He's a dynamic player that is very athletic. Jordan is another guy that can score the ball. The opportunity is there, the ability is there, and from a style perspective he really fits.
Q. What does the team need to do to reach its maximum potential?
A. We have a very deep team. If we can develop that depth, I feel that we can be more consistent on the defensive side of the ball. Our togetherness, our ability to play with that depth, and how we develop that depth, to me, is a chance to break through for the first time in a long time.
Q. What do you think of your two captains this season?
A. I'm happy to see that the players voted Devin Oliver and Vee Sanford to be our two captains. Both are seniors, and both have experience. We have two guys here that I am happy to see that our team responded in awarding them leadership roles.
Q. Talk about playing in the EA Maui Sports Maui Invitational.
A. It's an honor to be able to play in a tournament that is synonymous with the best in college basketball. This is great tournament, and a great tournament field. You could see any of the teams from the mainland in a regional this coming March. It's a great opportunity for us. Going against some of the best teams and best coaches around, we will be tested every night and learn a lot about ourselves that will help us throughout our season. I'm looking forward to have a great crowd behind us, and everyone from UD, team and fans alike, will enjoy seeing our name up on that wall after winning the Maui championship the last time we were there in 2003.
Be sure to watch the Flyers in the Maui Invitational. First game is tonight at 11:59 ET on ESPN2.
