CHICAGO - The University of Dayton women's golf team is in ninth place (323 - +35) after the first day of Chicago State's Cougar Classic played Monday at Harborside International. Senior
Grace Nikolai carded the team's low round with a 79 on the par-72, 5,914-yard Starboard course and finished the day ranked in a tie for 18th place overall.
Sophomore
Mika Suntay turned in a round of 80 (+8) to rank 24th and junior
Lucy Frey was one stroke behind her at 81 (+9) and tied for 33rd. Senior
Maggie Prokop shot an 83 (+11 - t-53rd) and senior
Erin Peavy fired an 86 (+14 - t63rd) to round out the team scoring for the Flyers. Freshman
Jenna DiPaolo also participated, playing as an individual.
The Dublin, Ohio, native carded an 84 (+12) in her first collegiate round and currently sits in a tie for 57th place overall.
The Flyers will return to action tomorrow morning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The team will be starting on holes eight, nine, 10 and 11 while DiPaolo will tee off from hole 17.
