Match CoverageDAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton volleyball team returns to the road for two Atlantic 10 Conference matches away from home over the weekend: Friday, Oct. 10 at George Mason at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 11 at George Washington at 7 p.m. With two A-10 wins at home last weekend, the Flyers remained perfect in league action with a 4-0 mark while also extending the squad's winning streak to eight matches.
Scouting George MasonGeorge Mason (5-11, 1-2 A-10) is currently enjoying a five-match homestand but the Patriots have gone 1-2 in their last three matches at home. GM only played one match last week, a 3-1 loss to George Washington on Friday, Oct. 3. The Patriots are led by Morghan Martin with 2.66 kills/set and Lolade Owokoniran with a .204 hitting percentage and 1.11 blocks/set (7th A-10).
Scouting George WashingtonIn its only match of the week, George Washington (12-4, 3-0 A-10) picked up a 3-1 win over regional rival George Mason Friday, Oct. 3 to remain undefeated on Atlantic 10 action. The Colonials are led by Chidima Osuchukwu with a .363 hitting percentage (4th A-10) and 1.49 blocks/set (1st A-10) while Jordan Timmer serves as the team's primary setter with 10.96 assists/set (2nd A-10).
Series Stuff• Friday's match will be the fourth all-time meeting between Dayton and George Mason with the Flyers having won all three previous match-ups. The series began in 2001 and the two squads squared off two times last season - GM's first in the Atlantic 10. The Flyers have swept the previous two meetings, 3-0.
• The series between the Flyers and the Colonials began in 1995 and spans 37 matches with UD owning a 27-10 advantage. GW broke up its 17-match losing streak against UD last season with a 3-1 win on Nov. 1, 2013. The Flyers avenged the loss two weeks later, 3-1, on Nov. 17.

Amber Erhahon leads the conference and ranks 29th nationally with a .398 hitting percentage. Freshman
Jane Emmenecker ranks first in the A-10 and 27th nationally with 11.09 assists/set while junior
Janna Krafka is first in the A-10 and 44th nationally with 302 digs this season.
• With 951 team kills, Dayton ranks 14th nationally out of 150 teams ranked by the NCAA. The team also ranks 15th with 886 team assists and 15th with 108 team service aces.
• Dayton has won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title 10 times (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2001, 1998). The Flyers have won the A-10 Championship title eight times (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2005, 2004, 2003) and have made nine NCAA appearances in program history.
• Over the last five seasons (2010-2014), the Flyers have recorded a 55-7 mark in Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2012 and a 15-0 record in 2010. UD suffered only one conference loss in 2011, posting a 14-1 record that season. So far in 2014, the Flyers are a perfect 4-0 in league action.
RPI RankingsDayton heads into this weekend's match holding a RPI (Rating Percentage Index) ranking of 122 according to ncaa.com. George Mason comes in behind UD at 269 and George Washington boasts the 60th-best RPI out of 332 Division I programs ranked.
13th to 1,000With two wins at the season-opening Bowling Green Hampton Inn Invitational, Dayton has surpassed the 1,000-win mark as a program and is just the 13th NCAA DI team to attain that level of success. The Flyers currently rank 13th all-time in the Division I record book with an overall program tally of 1,013-564 over 44 seasons (1970).

Janna Krafka has also passed 1,000 ... career digs. With her 33 digs at the BGSU Hampton Inn Invitational, she reached the 1,000-dig mark for her career. With 1,269 career digs, Krafka now ranks fifth all-time in the UD career record book. She is only 160 digs behind Cathy Wojciechowski (1990-93) who ranks fourth with 1,429 career digs.

Isolde Hannan is moving up the Dayton career assisted blocks list as the top blocker for the Flyers this season. Hannan currently ranks sixth all-time with 402 block assists, just 13 behind fifth-placed
Megan Campbell (415). So far this season, she has recorded a team-best 58 BAs and is averaging 1.03 total blocks/set (eight solo blocks). Heading into this season, Hannan has recorded three consecutive seasons with 100+ assisted blocks.
Turn Down for WhatAs the team's kills leader, junior
Alaina Turner consistently produces offensively for the Flyers. She ranks second in the Atlantic 10 and 42nd nationally with 4.07 kills/set. Turner also pops up in several other categories in the NCAA National Ranking Summary: third in service aces (41), fourth in aces/set (0.59), fifth in total attacks (812), 18th in both total kills (281) and attacks/set (11.77) and 23rd in points/set (4.96).
Consistently AccurateThe team's hitting percentage has improved drastically since the beginning of the season and the Flyers currently rank first in the Atlantic 10, hitting at a .249 clip. Dayton ranks second in the league in assists/set (12.84) and kills/set (13.78).

UD Picked Third in A-10 Preseason PollDayton has been chosen to finish in third place in the Atlantic 10 for 2014. The Flyers, winners of four of the last five A-10 titles, tallied 78 points in voting among the league's head coaches as announced by the conference office Aug. 20. Defending champion Duquesne was selected to win the title, receiving eight first-place votes.
Up NextIt will be a three-match week for the Flyers after this weekend's trip to the nation's capital. Dayton will host Morehead State Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Frericks Center for a 7 p.m. match-up. For the weekend, the Flyers will play host to the Fordham Rams on Friday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. followed by a 1 p.m. match against Rhode Island at home.
