St. James PlantationSOUTHPORT, N.C. - The University of Dayton women's golf team is in seventh place (328) after the first round of the 2014 Colonial Athletic Association Championship. The three-day tournament is being played at St. James Plantation's Reserve Club, a par-72, 6,066-yard course. Senior

Mika Suntay each carded a nine-over-par 81 to tie for 19th place overall to lead the Flyers after the first 18 holes of action.
Top-seeded College of Charleston leads the field after turning in a team score of 302 (+14) and the Cougars' Laura Fuenfstueck leads all golfers with her even-par round fo 72.

Grace Nikolai each turned in rounds of 83 (+11) to sit tied in 28th place.
The 54-hole championship is scheduled to continue on Saturday. The teams will start at split tees at 9:00 a.m. CofC, UNCW, Delaware, William & Mary, James Madison, and Towson will tee-off on the first tee, while Dayton, Richmond and Hofstra will tee-off of No. 10.
