HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – The University of Dayton women's track and field program completed its weekend at Marshall Saturday.

The Flyers went into day two of the competition leading the nine-team event. Dayton picked up valuable points in the pole vault and weight throw on Friday and looked to carry that momentum into the final day. The Flyers had a strong showing and finished seventh overall ahead of Atlantic 10 foe Duquesne and Ohio. UD had 53 points overall.Â

"This was an outstanding meet for the women," said Head Coach Jason Francis. "The weekend was filled with many great performances highlighted by two meet and facility records. We need to keep this momentum going as we continue through the indoor season."

In the high jump, senior Rebecca Maj took fourth and senior Isolde Hannan finished 17th.

Junior Jordan Hoffman finished 16th in the 60m hurdles and 22nd in the 60m. Senior Maya Pedersen ran in the 60m as well and finished 17th with a new personal best of 7.88. She went on to take 12th in the 200m with a time of 25.63, just shy of a career best.

Dayton had a strong showing in the shot put with a trio of Top 7 finishers. Freshman Jenni Rossi took the gold medal with a distance of 13.58m and set a new personal record. It was also a meet and facility record, the second of the week for the Flyers. Fellow freshman Erin Reese was fourth with a 13.53m mark. Senior Miranda Nelson finished off the event by taking seventh and hit a distance of 12.97m.

Junior Sydney Riethman finished 22nd in the long jump.

Six different Flyers competed in the 800m event with senior Chelsea VanHook leading the way with a time of 2:16.99. That was good enough for fifth place out of 43 runners. Freshman Brittany Fisher set a personal record and took 10th with a time of 2:18.41 while sophomore Maggie Pryslak and freshman Megan O'Kane also set career bests. Freshman Grace McDonald made her season debut and finished 14th overall.Â

Freshman Emily Leonard picked up valuable points for the Flyers in the 3000m, finishing fifth and posting a time of 10:15.19, a new personal best.Â

The one mile saw senior Katie Ollier finish fourth overall, adding more points to Dayton's total with a time of 5:11.18.

Dayton ended the weekend with the 4x400m relay as the "A" squad made up of VanHook, McDonald, Fisher, and Olivia Albers finished 12th. The "B" squad comprised of Pryslak, Leonard, Attea, and Katie Ollier took 15th.

The Flyers will return to action next weekend at the Akron Invitational on Feb. 6 and 7.
