DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton is currently the top school of the Atlantic 10 Conference and fourth among FCS schools in the 2015-16 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Division I fall standings which were recently announced.
The Dayton men's soccer and volleyball teams advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament, earning 50 points each for the Flyers in the standings.Â
UD is tied for 45th in the standings, with Nebraska, Boston University and New Mexico. Dayton ranks ahead of schools such as Maryland, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Villanova, Wisconsin, Indiana and Arizona.Â
The final Division I fall standings will be released Thursday, Jan. 14. The first set of winter standings will be released mid-March.Â
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and
USA Today.Â
Dayton had a memorable 2015 fall season which included four conference titles, Â a 34-4-2 combined conference record (.875 winning percentage) and three NCAA Tournament berths. The Flyers were one of four programs that won three team conference tournament championships during the 2015 fall season. The other three were Stanford, Princeton and Furman.Â
