Oak Ridge, Tenn. - The University of Dayton rowing team will compete in the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association (SIRA) Championship Regatta April 18-19 at Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

Races for the event start on Saturday, April 18 at 8 a.m. Last year at SIRA, Dayton took fourth place in the V8+ grand final with a time of 6:59.60.

UD will race boats from Clemson, Georgia, Rice, Florida, Charleston, Jacksonville, Tulane, Kansas State and Purdue.

The Flyers competed in the George Washington Invitational last weekend. Dayton secured a close victory against Georgetown in the V8+ race, edging out the Hoyas by a second with a time of 6:32.50.
