Final Results

TERRE HAUTE, Indiana- The University of Dayton women's track and field team earned 47 points to finish fifth in the Gibson Invitational at Indiana State University on Saturday.
 
"I saw lots of great things this weekend from the women on a brand new state of the art facility," said Head Coach Jason Francis. "We have been capitalizing on our opportunities each week and we continue to build off of the previous weeks performances."
 
In the pole vault, freshman Leah Frischmann finished third overall with a height of 3.80m, matching her personal best from three weeks ago. Senior Ashley DeMange also finished fourth with a height of 3.65m.
 
Four Flyers competed in the shot put with freshmen Jenni Rossi and Erin Reese finishing fourth and fifth respectively. Reese's 14.08m mark was her personal best. Senior Miranda Nelson took 15^th along with freshman Sarah Sepanski finishing 18^th.
 
In the 1500m event, senior Katie Ollier led the way in 13^th with a time of 4:55.14. Freshman Nicole Steinbicker went on to place 15^th with a new personal best. Sophomore Kathleen Keene placed 16^th while freshman Kate Crawford finished 18^th.
 
Junior Jordan Hoffman finished 10^th in the 100m hurdles with a personal best time of 15.20s.
 
In the 400m, senior Maya Pedersen took fifth place with a time of 55.71s to lead Dayton while freshman Claire Attea finished 15^th along with freshman Megan O' Kane who placed 16^th with a new personal best.
 
Junior Paige Yaeger placed seventh in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:03.34.
 
In the 800m, freshman Grace McDonald set a new personal record time of 2:15.15 and finished seventh overall. Senior Chelsea VanHook also earned a ninth place finish with a time of 2:16.06.
 
In addition to her pole vault performance, senior Ashley DeMange finished 11^th in the 200m with a personal best time of 25.67s.
 
The Flyers had a strong showing in the discus with freshman Erin Reese earning fifth place with a throw of 44.87m. Senior Aly Weeman placed 11^th along with freshman Jenni Rossi who finished 14^th.
 
Also at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, California, freshman Emily Leonard set a new personal best in the 5000m with a time of 17:39.
 
The Flyers are back in action next weekend where they will compete in the Redhawk Invitational in Oxford, Ohio.
