INDIANAPOLIS - University of Dayton senior basketball players Andrea Hoover and Jordan Sibert each donned the Flyers uniform one last time tonight as they competed in the  27th Annual State Farm College Three-Point Championships held at Hinkle Fieldhouse on the campus of Butler University in Indianapolis, the site of this weekend's men's Final Four.

Both competed in their respective Three-Point Championships, with Hoover advancing all the way to the women's finals before losing, 17-15, to Portland's Cassandra Brown. A victory would have pitted her against men's winner, Kevin Pangos of Gonzaga, whom Brown went on to defeat 21-20.

"The atmosphere was great," Hoover said. "I just felt like coming out here and trying to have fun and to get to the finals was just icing on the cake."

Hoover led all shooters in the semifinals with 20 points, and Dayton women's basketball's all-time leader in made three-pointers (239) stood in second place after the first round with a score of 18.

Sibert came up just short of advancing out of the first round into the semifinals of the men's competition, dropping in 14 points. The lowest score to advance out of the first round was 15.  Despite only playing two seasons for the Flyers, Sibert made his mark on the UD record books, as he finished his career seventh in three-pointers made on the men's side, with 163.

"To be able to be in this competition, to be able to compete, it's great for Dayton," Sibert said.  "I hope everybody's proud."

Basketball fans packed into Hinkle Fieldhouse, coming close to a sellout and creating a raucous environment.

"The atmosphere was great," Hoover said.

"The crowd brought us energy," Sibert said. "Everybody came out here and had a good time. This was a fun event."
