LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - After the first round of play at the 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Association (MAAC) Championship, the University of Dayton women's golf team is tied for second place with a team score of 316 (+28). The Flyers' top first-round performer was senior
Lucy Frey who fired a six-over-par 78 and is currently tied for 10th place out of 40 competitors.
Albany leads the team scoring with an 18-hole score of 303 on the first day of the three-day championship being played at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course. The course is being played at par 72 and 6,018 yards. The Great Danes' Paige Fujihara leads all competitors with a 74 (+2). Dayton is tied with Fairfield at 28 over par.
Sophomore
Jenna DiPaolo and junior
Mika Suntay each fired a round of 79 (+7) and are tied for 15th place. Freshman
Emma Meyer led the team with three birdies on the day and finished tied for 19th at eight over par (80). Junior
Amalia Emma is the fifth Flyer competing at the tournament - she carded a first-round score of 85 (+13) and is tied for 29th.
