DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's soccer team will travel to Marquette on Monday to take on the Golden Eagles at 7 p.m. ET in Milwaukee, Wis. It will be the third road game in the first four games of the season for the Flyers.
SCOUTING THE FLYERSDayton heads into the week with a 2-1 record overall and a two-game winning streak. Head coach
Dennis Currier, in his 11th season at UD, has guided a deep, talented squad to a pair of wins over James Madison and Cleveland State.
The Flyers are averaging two goals per game while holding opponents to one score a contest. UD has a .436 shots on goal percentage and averages 13.0 shots per game. Opposing teams have a .344 shots on goal percentage and 10.7 shots per game.
Five different Flyers have recorded one goal this season, with goals coming from all three areas of the field: forwards, midfielders, and defenders. Senior

THE SERIESThe Flyers have met Marquette seven times in program history, posting a 2-3-2 record against the Golden Eagles. The last meeting between the two teams came back on Oct. 14, 1994 when Dayton recorded a 5-1 victory over Marquette at home.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
MARQUETTEThe Golden Eagles are 1-1-1 this season with mixed results throughout the early stages of the year. Marquette has a win over Portland, a loss at Oregon State in overtime, and a tie at Milwaukee. Head coach Louis Bennett is in his 10th season at the helm of the Golden Eagles and has 198 career wins in his 19 seasons.
Through three games, Marquette is scoring at a 1.67 goals per game clip and giving up 1.33 goals to opponents. The Golden Eagles have a .415 shots on goal percentage and average 13.7 shots per game.
Senior Kelmend Islami leads the team with two goals and four points this season while three other players have chipped in one score. Freshman Luis Barraza has three games in the net with 1.32 GAA.

Marquette tied Milwaukee on the road in the Golden Eagles' last outing. After battling through regulation and two overtimes, both teams managed just one goal. Louis Bennett II was the goal scorer with Alex McBride recording the assist.
LEADING THE WAYThe Flyers rank first in the Atlantic 10 in shots, points, goals, assists, and shutouts. Individually, Harr is first in shots while Haupt is third, and Amankona and Sendin are tied for fourth. Schoonderwoerd is second in points and Emery is tied for the league lead in assists as well. Defensively, Saliba is fourth in goals against, second in saves, and tied for first in shutouts.
AMANKONA NAMED SENIOR CLASS CANDIDATEThe 2015 Senior CLASS Award candidates were announced and Dayton's
Amass Amankona is one of 30 male finalists for the national honor. The award is given to one male and female in each sport every year that best exhibits excellence in four areas: classroom, character, community, and competition. Amankona is one of four A-10 candidates and joins a pair of Dayton women's soccer players, Nicole Waters and Ashley Campbell, on the list. Dayton is one of seven schools with both a male and female honoree.
NATIONAL RANKINGSDayton is also ranked in the Top 50 in the nation in multiple categories as well. The Flyers are 25th in assists per game, 35th in points per game, 31st in scoring offense, eighth in total assists, ninth in total goals, and 10th in total points.
Individually, Frasca and Schoonderwoerd are tied for fifth in game-winning goals, Emery and Schoonderwoerd are tied for ninth in total assists, and Schoonderwoerd is ranked 29th in total points.
