DAYTON ANNOUNCES 2016 SCHEDULE

The Flyers will begin the season with a night game.

Schedule (PDF)

DAYTON, Ohio-
Six home games and five very challenging road games are what you can expect from the 2016 University of Dayton Flyer football schedule this year. There will be no breaks during the regular season for this year's squad as Dayton's lone bye week comes after the last regular season game on Nov. 12.

The Flyers will begin the season with an opening night game at home against Division II opponent Central State on Saturday, Sept. 3. The Flyers have not played Central State since the 2011 season where UD won the game with a final score of 17-7.

After hosting Robert Morris in week two, the Flyers will face a tough three-game stretch where Dayton will travel to Pittsburgh on September 17th, to face Duquesne who made the FCS playoffs last year.

Dayton will then begin conference play against San Diego the following week, an opponent who shared the 2015 PFL crown with the Flyers. UD will then try to avenge last year's lone regular season and PFL loss against Drake on October 1st.

The Flyers will have Senior Day on its final home game of the regular season on November 5th, against Valparaiso.  Dayton will close the 2016 PFL season with a trip to New York to take on Marist on November 12th.

Dayton enjoyed a historic season this fall, finishing 10-2 overall and making the Flyers' first appearance in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.  UD was the co-champions of Pioneer Football League with a 7-1 conference record.

UD shared the title with San Diego, but earned the PFL's automatic berth into the playoffs with a 14-13 win over the league preseason favorite Toreros.  It was the Flyers' 12th PFL crown in the 23-year history of the league.
