Box Score CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 5 seeded University of Dayton men's tennis team kicked off the Atlantic 10 Championships in fine fashion Thursday morning, sweeping aside No. 12 seed La Salle 4-0 at the Boar's Head Sports Club.
Dayton advances to take on No. 4 seed Davidson at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 15.
The Flyers came out firing on all cylinders, as No. 3 doubles pair
Graham Reinbold and
Kyle MacDonald cruised to a 6-0 victory to kick things off, with the No. 2 pairing of
Andy Druffel and
Bernardo Sanson following shortly after with a 6-2 win.
UD kept rolling on the singles side, as Reinbold completed the personal sweep on the day with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6. Freshman
Lorenzo Rollhauser came through with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5, and sophomore
Simon Jayaram wrapped up the victory with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 4.
Dayton's
Jordan Benjamin and
Zach Berry also held leads at No. 1 and 2 singles respectively before the match finished with the Flyer victory.
