PHILADELPHIA – The University of Dayton rowing Varsity 8+ took fourth in the petite final and the Varsity 4+ took fifth place in its semifinal at the 2016 Dad Vail Regatta held on the Schuylkill River to close out its season. 
 
The Flyer V8+ of Madison Doty (coxswain), Kayla Contardi, Kaleigh Barkaszi, Allie Rogers, Erin Mohney, Chloe Hollinden, Rosie Perez, Sarah Byrd and Danielle Foust took fourth in their semifinal with a time of 6:51.6, just being edged out for third by the Saint Joseph's boat that finished in 6:51.2. In the petite final, the Flyers took fourth place in a time of 7:19.2, just behind Purdue in 7:17.5. Saint Joseph's won the race in 7:09.0.
 
The Flyer V4+ finished out the season by taking fifth in its semifinal in a time of 7:56.2. Meghan Garriott (coxswain), Alex Anain, Kristen Hackel, Rebecca McDonald and Rachel Hock made up the UD V4+.
 
It marked the final races at UD for seniors Alex Anain, Rachel Hock, Erin Mohney and Allie Rogers.
