DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton football team will be welcoming two new members to its coaching staff this upcoming season,
Zak Bertram and
Brian Dougherty.
Dougherty will act as a secondary coach for the Flyers. Most recently, he was a graduate assistant at Ball State University, with both wide receivers (in 2015) and defensive backs in 2014). Brian has also helped in coach cornerbacks as a coaching intern at Millikin University in 2013. As a student assistant at his alma mater, Miami University, he helped with quarterbacks (2012), linebackers (2011), and defensive linemen (2010).
Dougherty graduated with his Bachelors of Education from Miami University in 2012, and then received his Masters of Education from Ball State University in 2016.
Zak Bertram will be acting as the Director of Football Operations with the Flyers this season. He was previously a Student-Athlete Academic Support Intern at UD, a Lifetime Activities Program Instructor at Florida State University, and an Athletic Department Intern at Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, OH.
He graduated with his Bachelor's in Sport Administration and Business Management from the University of Cincinnati in 2014, and then went on to receive his Masters of Sport Management from Florida State University in 2015.
The Flyer football team will start out their season against Central State on
Saturday, September 3 at home. Game time is
7:00 p.m. ET
