DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team is stepping out of conference play on Tuesday as it heads to Cincinnati for a match-up against Xavier. First serve between the former conference rivals is set for 6 p.m. at XU's Cintas Center.

About Dayton
Dayton (13-6) is currently enjoying a five-match winning streak after dropping back-to-back matches against Western Kentucky and Ohio State. As a team, the Flyers lead the Atlantic 10 in hitting percentage (.231), assists (12.21) and kills (13.43). Current A-10 Defensive Player of the Week senior Amber Erhahon ranks 13th nationally with her .422 hitting percentage and fourth in the A-10 with 1.10 blocks/set while junior Lauren Bruns leads the league with 3.64 kills/set. Junior Margo Wolf is the team's leading passer with 4.62 digs/set (4th A-10).

Scouting Xavier
Xavier (7-13) is heading into Tuesday's match after two Big East losses at home this past weekend. As a team, the Musketeers lead the Big East in digs (16.45) and rank third in blocks (2.51). XU is led by Laura Grossman with 2.34 kills/set while Alexis Newsome boasts the team's best hitting percentage (.324). Newsome is also the team's leading blocker with 1.19 stuffs/set and Meredith Klare gets under 4.54 digs/set.

Series Stuff
In a series that dates back to 1971, Xavier is one of Dayton's most-played opponents of all time. The Flyers hold a commanding 55-25 lead over the Musketeers and UD has won seven consecutive meetings in the series. The two last squared off on Sept. 2 at Frericks Center as Dayton claimed a 3-1 win.

In the most recent release of the NCAA Rating Percentage Index (RPI) of 2017 posted Monday, Oct. 9, Dayton came in at 61 according to NCAA.com. Xavier was ranked 188.

• Tim Horsmon is in his ninth season overall, and fourth since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2017. His record at Dayton is 228-63 and his career win-loss mark sits at 404-227 in 19 seasons as a head coach. Horsmon is the program's second-winningest coach behind only R. Elaine Dreidame who amassed 310 wins 1970-79.
• UD has won 43 consecutive regular-season Atlantic 10 Conference matches, a streak that dates back to a 3-2 loss at George Washington on Oct. 11, 2014 (the team's only conference loss that season).
