LEBANON, Ind. – The University of Dayton women's golf team took home fifth place after the Flyers completed three rounds of team match play over two days of the Jaguar/Crusader Challenge from April 16-17.
 
Round 1: IUPUI beats Dayton 4-1
1. Hackleman (IUPUI) defeated Cunningham (UD) 5&3
2. Budnik (IUPUI) defeated Meyer (UD) 2&1
3. Connors (UD) tied Hilsmeyer (IUPUI)
4. Ingram (IUPUI) defeated George (UD) 4&3
5. DiPaolo (UD) tied Abrahamova (IUPUI)
 
Round 2: Dayton beats Green Bay 4.5-0.5
1. DiPaolo (UD) tied Steen (GB)
2. George (UD) defeated Birch (GB) 1up
3. Grunder (GB) defeated Connors (UD) 1up
4. Meyer (UD) defeated Larson (GB) 4&2
5. Cunningham (UD) defeated Mazurek (GB) 6&5
 
Round 3: Dayton beats Detroit Mercy 3.5-1.5
1. Thompson (UDM) defeated DiPaolo (UD) 3&2
2. George (UD) defeated Shaw (UDM) 5&4
3. Connors (UD) defeated Heath (UDM) 3&2
4. Meyer (UD) defeated Montone (UDM) 6&5
5. Cunningham (UD) tied Sharpe (UDM)
 
Coach's Quote
"The team did really well here at IUPUI," said Head Coach Sally Kosters. "The team lost the first round, but in most of the matches we went to the 17th or 18th hole to either win or lose. We then came back and won both the second and third rounds. Jenna DiPaolo, senior and team captain, was really solid in all three matches, playing number one against some really strong players, all square on the 18th in her first two rounds. Emily Connors has her swing back and won two matches handily. Emma Meyer was on fire, playing the best of her career, putting away her competition early, 6 up today. Makenzie George was flawless today, clicking on all cylinders and sending her competitor home on the 13th hole. Allegra Cunningham has a fantastic second round routing her opponent 5 up with 4 to play. I knew we had these wins in us, and we are pumped and ready for conference play on Friday."
